Meeting with Professor Vesna Brujic-Okretic on Wednesday 8th October '14

I met with my project supervisor (Prof. Professor Vesna Brujic-Okretic) on Wednesday 8 October 2014 to discuss my project proposal. I stated that I would like to improve upon a free open source application tracking system (ATS) called YAWIK for a client that I work for called Dartford Grammar School of whom I work for as an ICT Technician since May 2008. I dropped down to part-time employment when starting Kingston University in September 2011.

The program YAWIK is in beta and has a MIT Licence. I proposed that I would like to extend the functionality of this product as their are only two truly open source ATS products. Firstly, I'd like to enable the user to upload a .DOCX file and allow YAWIK to scan through the document and auto populate the NoSQL database with information found on the CV. Secondly, although similar, I'd like to also allow PDF files to be read into the database. Thirdly, I'd like to implement a psychometric testing feature so that new applicants are presented with a personality test during job applications that the client wants. Prof. Brujic-Okretic suggested that I build another product and essentially link the two systems but essentially, they will be their own systems but YAWIK will remotely use the database for applicant testing purposes.

Vesna also requested that I send her a raw draft proposal for Monday 13 October 2014. We have also arranged to meet during Thursday 16 October 2014 at 12pm to further discuss on the project etc.
